Find My London Wedding Planner - The Bijou Bride

Considering her favourite colour is 'gliver' (a sparkly combination of gold and silver), who better to finish our Olympic medal-filled season than the fabulous Alexandra Merri of The Bijou Bride.

Although she's a qualified International Wedding and Events planner, Alexandra has a rather impressive background in other creative industries too. She's studied the History of Art; trained as a personal shopper and image consultant; completed a course in Make-Up artistry and has been known to style music videos and organise film premieres tooAnd as if that wasn't enough, aside from her wedding business and the time she spends gathering inspiration, she also runs body confidence workshops in schools across the country for teens. (Oh and did I mention that she's currently in the top 100 list of UK Wedding Bloggers?!) Simply calling this exceptionally-talented lady a planner is an understatement.

Viewing The Bijou Bride's portfolio, iconic images of Hollywood starlets from days gone by are conjured up in the shoots she has styled. Her vision is clearly inspired by her love for the big screen - admitting that she enjoys the element of escapism that comes from watching films. No stranger to the entertainment industry herself, Alexandra has both the imagination and the experience to help brides plan their own oscar worthy weddings.

Alexandra works hard to ensure the weddings she creates are unique and personal to the bride and groom themselves and has been kind enough today to give me a little insight into what she does. So, without further introduction, I'll hand over to The Bijou Bride herself!

p.s...when you've finished, make sure you take a little look at this too.
...more like that of a Set Designer than a traditional wedding stylist or planner. I offer a range of flexible, affordable services to suit every bride and every budgetI am obsessed with ambience and hidden details. I weave all my clients' passions and personalities into seamless, unforgettable wedding days that they enjoy from start to finish. My role is whatever my clients need it to be: creative consultant, personal shopper, venue dresser, coordinator or best friend.
...bespoke. It's not about my style but the style of my clients and how we express that throughout their wedding. It is key that the bride and groom's personalities infuse every element of their day.

...the ultimate expression of you as a couple. And they should be nothing but fun.
...pretty much anything! I love to dance and Buffalo Stance (Neneh Cherry) is always a winner.
...Jenny and James were the loveliest couple. They were keen to DIY as many elements as possible.  It was wonderful to see the theme we had created come to life and as this photo demonstrates, Jenny and James beamed and enjoyed every moment. Just as it should be!
have lots of ideas. I pride myself on giving my clients choice - the decisions regarding suppliers should always be theirs.
…leave the house without wearing a bit of make up!
A little slice of vintage cool with the most outstanding cocktails.  Be sure to dress for the occasion.

Wilden Bride London - www.wildenbridelondon.com

I meet a lot of Brides who are unbelievably stressed about finding the one dream wedding dress.  It is hard to find a perfect combination of all the design elements you love and when that is the case - I always recommend Wilden London.  Charlotte Wilden creates bespoke wedding dresses and has a way of putting you at ease immediately.  Charlotte created a dress for me recently so I can personally vouch for her incredible skills.

Barking Bathhouse - www.barkingbathhouse.com

Weddings are stressful so it is important to take some time out.  Barking Bathhouse is a quirky little spot to get your chill on with affordable spa treatments and natural cocktails.

So if bijou best describes you...then Alexandra is the lady to call. Pop on over to blog right now and say a little hello or add her over on twitter for updates on all things wedding. (And if you give a little mention that you saw her post over here on A Little London Wedding, she's give you 5% discount on any services booked!)

Oh...and although she never actually told me this herself...I do remember seeing this gorgeous little shoot not so long ago over on the rather wonderful Whimsical Wonderland Weddings.

And don't forget, if you have a wedding supplier you think should get a shout out in one of our 'Find My' features - send me a little email with their details and I'll get in contact with them.

In the meantime, enjoy the upcoming week and pop back tomorrow to find out what I did with these guys at the weekend!

Much Love,

Samantha x
