Wedding DIY - Strawberry Dessert Table Tutorial - Part 1

I can think of no better way to start my regular 'Make It Yourself' feature than to share a whole series of DIY tutorials from The Sugared Saffron Cake Company. You'll remember Asma from the recent feature we did here.

Are you planning to make your own wedding cake? Time and cost are two factors we all want to keep to a minimum and this simple tutorial will help you do just that. Super effective once attached to your blank canvas, these gorgeous little details are the perfect way to decorate a simple cake.

First up, Asma will be sharing her instructions for the sweet strawberry flowers. See that beautiful cake in the middle of the dessert table? Part one and part two of this tutorial will show you step-by-step how to achieve those lovely little details.

So, over to Asma for part one!

Easy enough? We thought so! If a strawberry cake isn't what you envisaged for your wedding then the variations you could create with this tutorial are endless! Perhaps flowers of a different colour, shape, size or maybe even a cake totally covered with them. Imagine something like this but with ombre flowers instead!

Remember to pop back tomorrow as we'll be sharing part two of this tutorial - those cute little strawberries!

In the meantime, check out Asma's blogwhere she shares a whole host of other foodie DIY's and interesting how-to tutorials. Mad baking skills and a fabulous sense of humour...her blog is certainly one to add to your favourites.

Much love,

Samantha x x
